Spinach and E. coli Outbreak

Denver, Colorado -- To date, the FDA has issued three statements on the subject of spinach and the E. Coli outbreak and has gone to the press with each. The latest was posted late on September 16, along with a Questions and Answers page that seeks to answer some of the questions consumers and the affected industries may have. The web address for the three statements and the Q & A are available at www.fda.gov and http://www.fda.gov/oc/opacom/hottopics/spinach.html. FDA's plan is to continue to issue additional statements and update the Q & A as more information becomes available. FDA continues to be in constant communications with CDC, state agencies and industry representatives.
