JANET MURRAY RE-ELECTED PRESIDENT

The Missouri Smallflows Organization (MSO) announces that Janet Murray, R.E.H.S. Environmental Health Supervisor of the Randolph County Health Department has been re-elected President for the 2011-2012 year.  This is her 5th term as President, and 8th year as a Board member.

MSO is a group of wastewater professionals that includes installers, soil evaluators, system evaluators, regulators, manufacturers and companies that deal with on-site system equipment and products.  It’s mission is “to educate installers, regulators, on-site soil morphology evaluators and other professionals involved in the wastewater industry in the latest technologies available; to provide a forum for wastewater professionals to demonstrate proper installation of wastewater systems; and to encourage wastewater professionals to educate homeowners, homeowner associations and the general public in location, operation and maintenance of their on-site treatment system to assure ongoing adequate operation”.  MSO held its first conference and exposition in 1996 at the Boone Co. Fairgrounds and somewhere around 100 persons attended, with a handful of vendors.  The conference has grown considerably since that time, and there are usually about 40 vendors from all over the country that exhibit at the show.

Several years ago MSO began an installer educational program, separate from the annual conference.  This has really taken off, and MSO are getting requests from around the state for classes.  So far there are  more than 10 programs to choose from, with ideas for several more.  All of the courses we give are pre-approved by the Department of Health for continuing education credit, and we have excellent instructors.

Janet commented “I feel extremely privileged to be representing this organization, not just on a state-wide level, but also nationally through the National On-Site Wastewater Recycling Agency.  I hope to see our Organization be recognized as one of the best wastewater conferences to attend.”  Additional information about MSO and NOWRA can be found on the website www.mosmallflows.org
